Our private walking tours in Tokyo are designed to give you a clear way to explore the city’s neighborhoods without trying to cover too much. A 4-hour tour focuses on one area, while a 6-hour option allows more time to explore that same area in greater depth. Each route is planned to flow naturally, so you can take in the character of the area without feeling rushed.
These routes are designed to make Tokyo manageable on foot, focusing on how each neighborhood fits together rather than trying to jump across the city between disconnected highlights.
Senso-ji’s 1,300-year history meets Ameyokocho’s post-war street scene.
Sensō-ji anchors the historic heart of Asakusa, where its 1,300-year history shaped the culture of Tokyo’s traditional Shitamachi neighborhoods. The walk explores the temple grounds and surrounding streets that developed alongside it over centuries. Nearby, Ameyokocho reveals a very different side of the city: a dense stretch of post-war shop streets that grew beneath the railway tracks after World War II. Here the focus shifts from historical narrative to the rhythm of everyday street activity, where your guide helps you navigate the crowded rows of food counters, discount shops, and long-running local vendors.

Yuyake Dandan steps lead into Yanaka Ginza, a local shopping street where small businesses, cafés, and restaurants reflect the area’s mid-century roots.
